The location is AMAZING if you love exploring the historic inner city. The newer rooms are much nicer and well-maintained, with daily cleaning. The hotel has a charming old-world atmosphere and a peaceful ambiance. The breakfast is simple but satisfying. The iron staircase adds a unique touch to the modern decor.

The hotel is in a great location, very close to attractions and in the heart of the city. It is also near New Market, which is convenient for shopping. The restaurant is clean and the staff is attentive to the needs of the clients.

I chose this hotel for attending a vendor expo and it was a great choice. The hotel provided a roundtrip airport shuttle, which was very convenient. The dry cleaning/laundry services were efficient, allowing me to have clean clothes for my business meetings. The business center was well-equipped and helped me stay productive during my stay.

The only thing that I missed for my work was a faster internet connection. Although the hotel offered free wifi, it was a bit slow at times, making it challenging to complete some of my online tasks efficiently.

The room had a bad smell and the hotel did not provide some basic services by default, such as complimentary water. The room service was not good and the breakfast area was not clean.

Beautifully decorated rooms with all modern amenities. The air-conditioned rooms were like an oasis of comfort in the humid city. The staff at the reception desk were extremely helpful in assisting with our travel needs. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant stay.

The reception staff were not particularly friendly, the standards of cleanliness and maintenance require attention and there are no communal areas in which to sit.

The staff are helpful, the room is clean and exceptional value for the price. Astoria is central to Calcutta with taxis and rickshaws at the door. For the money, it would be hard to find better.

Reception and ground floor are grubby but rooms and corridors leading to them are clean.
